2009 Hello From Earth project Last year Cosmos Magazine ran an initiative during National Science Week to talk to the stars! They created a web site for the public to submit brief messages which were collated and transmitted through space to Gliese 581d, a planet outside our Solar System which may support life. We had 25,878 messages submitted and great interest from all around the world. The project won Best Digital Engagement Strategy at the Publishers Australia Excellence Awards – Bell ’09.
