Jurassic Science Week visits NSW
Sydney
Dinosaurs have invaded our largest city, and are checking out all the sights! Keep a look out for orange footprint stickers indicating a dinosaur is in the area - you might just bump in to one at the Opera House, in the Royal Botanic Gardens, Hyde Park, at museums, UTS, Darling Harbour and at more Sydney locations!

Newcastle
Dinosaurs are set to roam the streets of Newcastle between 13 and 21 August 2011 to celebrate National Science Week. They will be brought back to life using augmented reality, a technology that combines the real and virtual worlds.
City of Newcastle Tourism and Economic Development Manager Simon McArthur says residents and visitors will be able to view the prehistoric beasts at various locations across the city, by downloading the free app to their mobile phone.
“The app will enable people to visualise the dinosaurs against a real background by looking through their phone camera.”
“Participants will also be able to photograph themselves with the dinosaurs and can enter a national competition for the best picture.”
“This is set to be a fun and engaging activity that will give individuals and families the opportunity to learn about and use new technology while they are, at the same time, experiencing our beautiful city.”
The locations of the dinosaurs are available to view on this map and there is more information on the Council’s website. The app can be downloaded by scanning a special bar code on the Jurassic Science Week stickers, which will be placed at each of the locations.
Newcastle Hidden logo competition
Mr McArthur says that in addition to the dinosaurs, the Newcastle brand will be hidden in a Honeysuckle location with clues to its exact whereabouts on Council’s website and the Newcastle Australia Facebook page.
The most original picture of the new colourful logo will win a great prize such as:
