The National Tour
The National Tour is pivotal to National Science Week celebrations. Running concurrently with National Science Week, the Tour invites the brightest and best of the world’s scientists to tour the nation, sharing their expertise and spreading their enthusiasm for science.
The prominent science personalities visit a host of major and regional centres, making presentations, duelling in debates and engaging in interviews, all based on the scientists areas of interest.
In past years, the National Tour has been privileged to host the likes of:
Dr Luke Hunter // Zoologist
Dr Sally Ride // First American Woman in Space
Dr Karl Kruszelnicki // Scientists, Author, TV and Radio Commentator
Marc Arbrahams // Mathematician and Inventor of the IG Nobel Awards
The Tour proves popular with both the public and the media. In 2008, the Tour received almost $1.1 million worth of coverage, included in Channel 9’s 'The Morning Show', ABC radio and the nation’s leading metro papers. The 2009 Tour has reached even more people around the country and was a great success!
Stay tuned for an upcoming announcement on the National Tour Guests for 2010!
