The National Tour
The National Tour is pivotal to National Science Week celebrations. Running right through National Science Week, the Tour invites some of the brightest and best of the world’s scientists to tour the nation, sharing their expertise and spreading their enthusiasm for science.
The prominent science personalities visit a host of major and regional centres, making presentations, duelling in debates and engaging in interviews, all based on the scientists' areas of interest.
Guest Speakers
This year there are four scientists speaking all around Australia for the National Tour:
- Professor Michael Cowley - Award winning physiologist tackling some of Australia's greatest medical challenges
- Doctor Fiona Wood - Groundbreaking medical researcher and Australian of the Year
- Doctor Catrin Goebel - Chemist working on keeping elite sporting competition clean
- Hanson Robotics - Doctor David Hanson leads an innovative start-up company bringing robots to life
It is with regret that we announce that David Hanson will not be touring Australia as part of National Science Week due to personal health issues. David is deeply sorry that he cannot be with us to celebrate Science Week. He and his team were looking forward to being in Australia and David apologises to those that were to be at events over the next week. He hopes to come to Australia and tour in the future. Please feel free to call Margot at shac Communications, the National Tour Manager on 07 5532 0157 if you have any questions.
