NSW Science Week Launch Party

NSW National Science Week Launch Party

To kick off Science Week for 2011, there will be a fantastic launch party at Martin Place, Sydney.

Science Week in NSW will be officially launched by Professor Mary O'Kane, the NSW Chief Scientist and Scientific Engineer.

Following Professor O’Kane’s welcome there will be a showcase of great performances by musicians, comedians and scientists, including Dr Karl, Hanson Robotics, Winny the Dinosaur, Questacon, The Slow Downs and Simon Pampena.

Highlight Events

The Ultimo Science Festival is one of the key events in NSW, with lots of activities and fun for everyone in inner Sydney. Check out the website to see the jam packed program.

Science in the City is happening again this year at the Australian Museum for primary and secondary schools. Go to www.scienceinthecity.net to see their exciting program and book in your school. Students will have the chance to hear from Australia's own groundbreaking plastic surgeon, Professor Fiona Wood as part of the National Science Week National Tour. Professor Wood has gained international recognition for her patented invention of spray on skin cells for burns victims. She will be presenting a free Q&A session at the Australian Museum on Wednesday 17 August, 3-4pm. Please contact the Museum for more information and to book.
