National Science Week 2010 Grants Round now closed!

National Science Week Grants are available to individuals and organisations interested in delivering a science event or activity for their local community. Updated guidelines and information for applicants for the 2010 Grants Program is now available on the National Science Week grants website.

The National Science Week 2010 Grants round closed on Friday, 23 October 2009.

116 applications were received for a variety of proposed activities and events in August 2010. As announced in early October, there is $500,000 in funding to support events and activities planned for 2010. Eligible applications are now being assessed by an independent committee and a group of successful applications will be recommended to the Department of Innovation, Industry, Science and Research. Look out for an announcement of the successful grant applicants early in 2010.

Support, assistance and guidance for National Science Week events (including events which do not have a 2010 Grant) is also available from the State and Territory Coordinating Committees and potential event holders are encouraged to get in contact with their local committee.

Schools are also encouraged to host a National Science Week event in 2010, and grants will be available through the Australian Science Teachers’ Association  early next year.
