National Science Week 2010

Now that 2010 has officially started, we wanted to give you a quick update of where things stand for National Science Week 2010.

The dates are confirmed and National Science Week 2010 will run from 14 to 22 August.

At the end of last year a large number of individuals and organisations from across every State and Territory submitted applications for grants to assist in running events celebrating this year’s National Science Week. The grants round has now closed and we expect that the Minister’s office will release the names of the successful recipients within the next few weeks.

Already we’ve started hearing from a number of you who have begun planning your events. For those of you looking for inspiration, this year is the International Year of Biodiversity and this may provide an interesting topic for you to consider.

Work towards locating international tour guests is progressing well, and we will be approaching a selection of fascinating potential guests within the next month. Keep watching for more information!

In the meantime, best of luck as you start thinking about National Science Week 2010 and we look forward to hearing about the exciting ideas you come up with to make this year the most successful to date.
