The Weather Channel is calling on schools across the country to help it break the Guinness World Record® for the world’s largest interactive weather report as part of National Science Week (August 14-22).
For the record to be broken, over 261 schools will need to measure the temperature in their playground at midday AEST on August 18. This information will become part of The Big Report, which will be broadcast on The Weather Channel at 6pm AEST that evening.
To get your school involved, simply register online.
You will be sent a unique ID, an information pack that includes details of the world record and step-by-step instructions for the day.
Registration is open until July 21 and the first 500 schools to register will be sent a thermometer. These schools will also have the opportunity to win a visit from one of The Weather Channel’s on-air team on the day.
All schools that participate in the world record attempt will receive a certificate of participation, acknowledgement of your school on The Weather Channel website and a DVD of The Big Report.
We really hope that your school is able to join us in this very exciting event for National Science Week.
